This week, we had the honour of hosting Prof. Marcos Centeno! During his time at UHGS he gave a lecture on “Visual Memory, Erasure, and the Afterlives of Images from Hiroshima’s Peace Museum” as well as led an internal seminar. We are grateful for the discussions his visit inspired.

This autumn, UHGS welcomes Prof. Manuela Consonni!

Her recent seminar examined how the massacre in Israel and genocide in Gaza is challenging the concept of “Jewish exceptionalism” and reshaping memory, identity, and discourse.

Our researcher Tadek Markiewicz recently took part in the British International Studies Association’s 50th Anniversary Conference in Belfast. He presented on “Global Vulnerabilities and Challenges to Orders” and convened two panels: “The Many Faces of Security” and “Cultures of Representation.”
