I'm just a guy who likes beer, video games, loud shirts, and making pretty words happen for a living.
Betcha #LorneMichaels is feeling a little sheepish about sending #EmilWakim packing at the end of last season...

Either way, thanks to #MayorMamdani, #MikieSherrill, #AbigailSpanberger, #Prop50 and countless other blue victories tonight, I'm actually feeling hope for the first time in months.

I'm so sick of the media normalizing this fascist chaos. Trying to apply ordinary standards to this unprecedented mess. They keep talking about approval ratings, Congressional procedures, and "What do you suppose this means?" 🤔

And I just want to scream at the television...

I have voted straight-ticket Democrat in every election that I've been eligible to since the age of 18. And I will continue to, even if it galls me to support a party that did absolutely nothing to prevent what's coming, despite multiple opportunities and avenues of recourse. #HoldingMyNose

This is what "obeying in advance" looks like. And it's fucking repulsive.

Watching the MAGAts eat each other over visas and immigration has been a desperately fascinating exercise. The entire movement is imploding, and we're still almost a month out from inauguration day. Still, seeing his base slowly realize he doesn't need them anymore...? Pure schadenfreude.

Playing a little #IndianaJonesAndTheGreatCircle. There's just something immensely satisfying in reminiscing about a time when everyone knew fascism was bad and punching the holy living shit out of Nazis was a moral imperative. A+++ highly recommend.

Certainly not AS disappointed about the outcome of this matchup as the one last week — because I'm not as invested, and the outcome is hardly as consequential. But what the hell even is this timeline? I mean, for real, though?

I'm the furthest thing from a sports fan imaginable, but — yeah. I'm still watching. Because I think the whole world could stand to see a man of color beat the absolute tar out an overconfident mediocre white dude right about now. Good for cultural healing. No other real reason.

Did I just watch Iron Mike Tyson flash his son (and all of America whose Netflix DOESN'T keep crashing) his li'l bootycheeks...?

This is what we were worried about. Yes, fascism, human rights and suppression of dissent are all big concerns. But we've just been taken over without a single shot fired. And if you're not concerned, you're not paying attention. Putin plays the long game, and this is a HUGE win for his regime.
Let me state this is bluntly as I can, as a biographer of both Donald Trump and Elon Musk: Vladimir Putin is now inside the U.S. government, with visibility into absolutely everything. He has that access through Trump, Musk, and David Sacks.

We are fully infiltrated. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/13/u...

You could run in the room and throw a sledgehammer at the big, Orwelian screen, and half the room would say, "Hey, I was watching that!"

The more time I spend on this platform, the more I notice something. People here tend to spell things correctly, form sentences correctly, and employ excellent grammar. It's really refreshing.

Mike Judge's "Idiocracy" was supposed to be a cautionary tale, not a how-to. And now, in a full-circle moment, Butthead has been nominated for Attorney General! Wonder if he'll wear the hubcap around his neck...? Y'know, if you tried to make this shit up, nobody would believe you. #SaveUsJohnThune

As someone who spent five years of my life working with "Dateline NBC" to put would-be child predators in prison, some of these cabinet appointments are giving me a bit of...pause. I won't say which, obviously. Y'know, for legal reasons.

I guess the only comfort I take in all of this is that he blew through any experienced person who would work with him in his first term, and now he's a pariah. So anybody who's joining the administration now might just be too stupid and/or incompetent to have much effect...? I hope?

Can't believe it's been so long since I've actually used this account. Obviously, there will be a lot more reason to in the near future. Looking forward to rebuilding a community.
