Just got back from No Kings protest in a very red county in NY. There were three pro Trump counter protesters against about 300 protesters,…again, in a very red county. This gives me a degree of hope.

A politician voting for a bill and then claiming ignorance about its contents is a bit like a doctor prescribing a medication and then claiming ignorance of what it does, what side effects it may have, or if it’ll even address the issue at hand.

Political malpractice.

The idea that republicans are the fiscally responsible ones hasn’t been true since before Nixon. Why don’t journalists question this idea that republicans keep spewing?

I’ve come to the conclusion that everyone who voted for Trump is either an idiot or an asshole - possibly both. But I can’t find any space outside that Venn Diagram.

If anyone knows a reason to have voted for him that does not fall into either category, please let me know.

We are experiencing an assault on science unparalleled by anything I’ve seen in my life. It’s not one issue or another anymore, the entire institution is under attack by the most powerful individuals in the country.

This Friday, where will you be?

Since when did ‘manhood’ involve loose control over emotions, insecurity, lack of empathy and weak shallow thinking?

I always thought masculinity meant confidence, empathy, considered deliberation and support for the disadvantaged.

There’s nothing emasculating about emotional intelligence.

So, is president’s day a day of mourning and lament now?

Believers often ask, “What’s the harm?”

- Opportunity cost. You only have so much time and money and spending them on nonsense removes those assets from genuine good.

- Naive thinking makes you more vulnerable to scams and charlatans.

- It warps moral thinking into a sociopathic framework.

Too many people think that bringing down inflation reduces prices. No, that would be negative inflation, which is bad. (See China right now) It makes me sad how many Americans don’t understand the basic fundamental math at play on this topic.

Funny how people on the right complain about the left wanting to be lazy and suckle on the teet of government. The actual numbers and data show quite the opposite.

Trump is in office and we have several viral outbreak potentials around the world.

Everyone ready for pandemic 2.0? Remember, sequels are often bigger, louder, have higher stakes and worse writing.

Trump wants the bishop who asked him to be nice to apologize.

Annnnd, the tone has been set. Good luck everyone.

There is a reason TikTok is so good at figuring out what you want to see, and why it’s better than everything else: it’s a weapon, and the best weapon is one you don’t know exists, or worse, one you think you can’t live without

I understand a lot of people are emotionally connected to Tik Tok. But they also seem to be in denial about the very real security concerns. Like finding out your hero had an evil side all along.

Go hug a tree and touch some grass and take a deep breath. I’m sure you’ll survive somehow.

Well crap. Is the feed now just going to be a continuous stream of links to would-have-been Tik Tok videos?

Ugh 🙄

I’m not sure the debate between more taxes or less tax is particularly useful. I’d rather focus more energy on wise spending and responsible governing.

CA didn’t ‘run out of water’. When you tap hundreds or thousands of hydrants at the same time the system pressure drops. They’re designed for house fires, not several whole neighborhoods at once.

You can’t fix what you don’t understand.

Who’s prepared for pandemic 2.0? Several fun new diseases are breaking out around the world. Think we’ll be more ready in 1-3 years than we were last time?

I have my doubts, given the track record of the incoming administration.
