Jess Phillips record on this issue is a lot better than Kemi Badenoch's she was the Women and Equalities in the previous Conservative Government that ignored the result of the previous inquiry and didn't implement any of its recommendations #pmqs #politicslive #5live

Reform pledged to cut costs and taxes in local government with a 'Doge'-style approach, but instead their council taxes are rising

Is it mad that I don’t think the Labour Party is a shambles? I think it’s operating under extreme challenges. I think it can’t please everyone. I think at times it’ll have to u-turn. I think it feels more stable BY FAR than the decade. It’s more transparent, less sleazy & making progress. #firstyear

I just wonder if anyone actually believes that Rachel Reeves is a hateful person?

I just see someone with an actual impossible job. Trying to manage public services that are so so so broken.

I tell you who does seem genuinely hateful…

The spectacle of Badenoch taunting the obviously distressed Rachel Reeves today on #PMQs makes me sick to my stomach. What an unremittingly horrible person.

I like Rachel Reeves.

She’s trying to balance books that are totally f*cked.

She’s trying to be realistic rather than selling a dream.

She’s having to battle against a global shit show.

What would or could anyone have done differently. Smoke & mirrors like the prev govt?

God Kemi Badenoch is so hateful.

“Now she describes their broken system that we are trying to fix.”

Labour might be in a mess here - but it’s one born out of the conservative legacy.

Just bloody vile.

Do you think Kemi B has post it notes all round her house with soundbite quotes on them so she can pluck them when needed?

Just heard another one on the radio - “driven by principle not panic” it’s like bad sales copy - not serious debate. #welfarebill

Does Jenrick realise that the issues with the current justice system ref capacity are wholly the fault of his party over the last 14 years.

It’s just mad that he’s so indignant.
Unbelievable decisions are having to be made now because the entire system was run into the ground. #SentencingReview

Referring to EU as “our European competitors” is exactly the issue. Kemi & her panel are hateful.

They’re huffing in the face of diplomacy, negotiation and progress - rather than paralysis which is what we were in with the last govt.

On the trade deal with India - the second hand embarrassment I feel for Kemi B & Shadow Trade Sec rolling out old ‘soundbites’ in response is very real.

Showing that EVERY SINGLE comment in the press from them is simply a swipey, flimsy playbook response.

BE BETTER. That is NOT opposition.

Nice going Runcorn.
In an electoral system with a representative MP, you have just chosen an MP who won’t represent and who will finger point instead of finding solutions.

I trust that you will become a lesson to the rest of the country.

If you’re unsure why this is so horrifying - watch Harriet (currently on Netflix).
Incredible woman making a huge difference in the most harrowing, inhumane times.
The U.S. National Park Service restored its original webpage on the history of the Underground Railroad after it was met with backlash for deleting a prominently featured photo of abolitionist and women’s suffragist Harriet Tubman, as well as segments of text describing the horrors of slavery.

Ed Davey brilliant as usual. He is the leader of the opposition that the country deserves.

Grown up interrogation. Serious, meaningful questions & not just regurgitated right wing headlines.

The guys sat behind KB are masking hard so as not to show embarrassment. Must be so hard to hold the cringe in. #PMQs

Wonder what KB’s repeated catchphrase will be today?

Last week:
When Labour negotiate we lose

Week before:
You’re a lawyer not a leader

So embarrasing.

Abhorrent
Hesgeth and Vance use the Washington D.C. airliner-helicopter crash to make anti-diversity, equity and inclusion points, suggesting it was to blame for the collision.

The Vice President didn't even open his remarks by referencing the victims or families - just straight into anti-DEI points.

Ed Davey is incredible - that is how you challenge the leader. KB is just deplorable - shitty swipey, baseless soundbites do not make a debate #PMQs
