We have the right to free speech, whether the federal government likes it or not.

And we have friends everywhere.
BREAKING NEWS: Today, on behalf of D.C. resident Sam O’Hara, we’re suing an Ohio National Guard member and four Metropolitan Police Department officers for violating his constitutional rights and D.C. law—simply for playing a song. 🧵

The trailblazing transgender rights activist Miss Major has passed away at the age of 78.

Miss Major was a lifelong organizer and participant in the ballroom scene. She took part in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was injured by the police — but she kept fighting.

This decision reinforces one of our country's core principles: The military has no place policing our communities.

there is a point here i want to amplify. the free speech defenders of the mainstream seem to have no awareness that actual free speech is often more fractious and destabilizing than civil and respectful. a society where speech is genuinely free isn’t the deferential space they want it to be.

The Trump administration is villainizing and punishing those who dare to express anything but unequivocal support for its political views.

Such censorship is profoundly harmful to a free society — but it can be stopped if we resist it together.
Protecting Free Speech in the Face of Government Retaliation
Since Charlie Kirk’s killing, the government has threatened to punish anyone who speaks ill of the conservative free speech activist. This violates the First Amendment.

Small towns and big cities alike rely on local radio to prepare for severe weather events.

Defunding public media violates our free speech rights and makes it more likely people won’t know about the next natural disaster until it’s at their doorstep.

The NEA is now under political pressure to force grant applicants to adhere to President Trump's anti-trans agenda, and we're suing.

New reporting confirms what's been clear from the start. The vast majority of people taken by ICE in their Omaha raid had no criminal records. This is the reality of the extreme mass deportation agenda: creating fear, separating families, and targeting our neighbors, loved ones and coworkers.

Less than 25% of Glenn Valley Foods workers detained in south Omaha ICE raid had prior criminal convictions. Most of the ones who did had received traffic-related misdemeanor charges.
