Excited to share that my first sole-authored article has just been published in the journal Qualitative Sociology! I investigate why spending time in nature often leads to care for it.
I will be part of this panel on teaching with a problem-solving lens in early February, with the #ProblemSolvingSociology group! Looking forward!
How can we bring sociological research to bear on real-world problems? Join our panel on "Teaching with a Problem-Solving Lens" with Erin McDonnell, Tyler Bateman, Subadevan, and Filippo Barbera.

🗓️ Friday, Feb 6, 11 AM ET. #ProblemSolvingSociology

This was a really touching article on the life and death of Michael Burawoy. 47 years at UC Berkeley. He loved the community and the community loved him back.

Tragic that we have lost (in a hit-and-run) one of the best people in sociology – his public work has served as mentorship to so many, including those who never formally met him. He will be missed.
I’m devastated that Michael Burawoy is no longer with us. Even though I wasn’t formally his student at Berkeley, he was a mentor to me and so many others. A model of intellectual rigour and political commitment, and a kind, generous person.

¡Michael Burawoy, Presente!
