Can someone diagnose me with a mental illness over bluesky please? I am watching the alley cameras and the totally accurate truck tracker on the trash company's website so I can be outside when the guy pulls up and yell at him if he tries to skip me again.

Today is the first* day of the first week of them making me go back to doing work at work. I have an end of year project to work on and a tomorrow deadline project to work on. Technically last night I went in and did a hardware upgrade as well but that doesn't count.

Had someone tell me they don't like trans people because if they "think a chick is hot and then she turns into a dude" that retroactively makes them gay. So like, that's how my day has been so far, how about you guys?

They ripped out the old floor drain and put in a whole new one that feeds directly into the sump pit. The new one does not have a check valve but because it goes to high up in the pit, IF the flooding is NOT fixed, by the time it backflows out of the floor drain it'd already be coming out of the pit

They emptied the trash can but left a cheeky little note about "next time have your cans out in time" like I didn't have them out there for hours before the guy made eye contact with me and drove away on Monday morning (and not moved them since). I'm actually pretty offended by this note.

So it's still not been picked up. Got to start my morning by calling and as politely as possible telling this woman I have a bunch of stuff I need to throw away. She said the system still showed me as a missed pickup and she was sending a message to the local guys to coordinate a pickup.
The lady said it was marked as a missed pickup and someone would be around to get it before end of day. She tried to explain something about the pickup system software and tracking the truck and that the route was 20% done but I don't really need that information, I just need my trash picked up?

It's not just the soakway, it ties into the sewer. The guy packed it with 6 inches of hydraulic cement. He also shoved some around the outside where it's cracked. Another crew is supposed to come out and cut the pipe back and do a permanent cap. They're going to tie the floor drain into the sump pit

They're sending someone out tomorrow morning (no timeframe given) to see what they can do about repairing the pipe. I told the scheduler I wanted it capped, but she said because there's a floor drain they have to replace the pipe segment. I can run to the store and get some cement. What floor drain?

Okay, so super good news? The plumbing company called about an estimate to fix the pipe! The lady said she was confused about the message the basement people left but it seems like the waterproofing company is footing the bill for the sewer line repair. "Call home owner for scheduling, bill [us]."
They found an old pipe! I cannot prove it was damaged during the original install, but the area they dug up originally is twice as wide as the sump pit and would have put that pipe exactly in the way. There was cement dumped on top of the pipe as well, but only in one area directly next to the pit.
Basement wall is cleared, gonna put up some drop cloth tonight so they can come in the morning and not solve the problem

Garbage truck skipped my house, called them while he was 10 feet away to report a missed pickup. The lady I talked to asked if it was my normal driver (it was) and then asked if he had continued to pee in the alley since I called about it last (afaik he has not?). I had talked to her about that!

I put the cover back on but I had to use the gross old screws because someone won't let me buy screws without making them cost $80 each
Also I should probably finish adjusting that sensor and put the cover back on it at some point.

There's 2 shelves and a minifridge and 3 or 4 boxes and one tote. Everything else has been moved. If they dig up the basement and go "we can't fix this" then what's my next step, sell the house? In a sales disclosure I only have to put yes or no on the "is there moisture" question not how much

Cleared out a bunch more stuff in the basement, just have to hope it makes it until they come to ~MAYBE~ fix it in a couple weeks.

One of my importers told me they THINK they can ship a thing but want me to figure out how to pre pay tariffs. Sorry, isn't that their job? Like, I can't be the first person they're trying to ship to since all of this started, right? Shouldn't they know how to do this? Shipping is their business!

I've continued the process of dumping everything that I own into 27 gallon totes, and I gotta tell you it really makes you realize how much absolute trash a person can own. Do I need any of this LootCr*te garbage? No, absolutely not. Is it taking up multiple of these totes? Yep, sure is.
