Problem is a lot of the experts are also really fucking stupid.
People keep blaming the rise of fascism on the books women are reading but you know what I think the real cause is?

You know what? They have to stop calling them spending cuts. The things the money is getting spent on don't just stop being needed. It's government downloading, in many cases to individuals who now have to pay higher per unit costs to profit-seeking corporations.

It would be nice for Canada to join the EU - who doesn’t want to be a de facto citizen of 28 great countries? And it would technically be possible.
