Humans are hard-wired for connection.

Co-regulation is the magic bullet when it comes to getting out of your sympathetic nervous system (fight-or-flight, etc.). For those of us who never learned how to self-regulate, talking to a receptive, non-judgemental person can bring us out of cortisol shock.

Self-respect and self-discipline are just self-love. Self-love is self-regulation. You *can* do it. Just choose. Choose yourself.

Humans are hard-wired for connection. We need each other.

When we are disconnected, like an open circuit, our energy gets stuck and can't flow. We're drowning in our own cortisol. Alone.

When we connect, the circuit closes and energy flows back and forth, generating serotonin, dopamine, even.

The genuine opportunity of coregulation is not something that I take lightly.
Being present with people that I’m working with at that level really is a special thing that I try not to take for granted.
How wonderful the opportunity to connect as human beings while lifting heavy things! 🏋️

Swedish Death Cleaning is an absolute game-changer.
I have spent the last decade since my mom died cleaning out my parent's house, using vacation to go through things, prep it for an estate sale, and sell the house. I highly recommend "The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning" if you want to declutter your house. It is a game changer.

Rarely gets mentioned but a big factor in mental exhaustion for adhd is just clutter in the house.

The visual noise of a space is "spikey" and imo takes a daily 3 spoons to like a persistent 2 1/2 spoons.
