Authoritarian states happen step by step, then all at once. But you couldn't get to this point from a healthy, functional state.

Black folks, Indigenous people, etc have been trying to tell you **based on our lived experience** that "regular" US politics & overt fascism are siblings, maybe twins.

yesterday in DC:
-watched thousands of liberals walk past the Palestine march, had maybe a dozen actually join up.
-took turns with friends at #NoPrideInGenocide and @codepink.bsky.social and #PalestinianYouthMovement
-got sieg heiled at by a rando dude, unfortunately I wasn't in punching range.

stopped attacking Palestinians at any point during the ceasefire. Yesterday, however, they escalated their massacre to such an extent that the unilateral breach of the ceasefire is undeniable. Over 450 Palestinians have been killed overnight.

there is a halal food truck in our neighborhood, and it's run by the sweetest Syrian gent and we try to go once a week. today after asking how his Ramadan is going, he sent me along with tangerines and bananas. the best uncle, ilhsm. 🥹🤍
