Most people say we have a housing crisis in this country (USA) but when you have 20+ vacant homes for every unhoused person, it’s not a housing crisis, it’s a hoarding crisis. Not one more private equity firm should be allowed to buy property until every person has a roof over their heads.

My friend told me her university is recruiting billionaires to fill the gaps left by federal funding cuts (amounting to $600,000) and she told me they were hopeful for one billionaire to cover part of that. But put in terms of a median US household, $600K is to a billionaire what $72 is to us
