Just some guy (he/him). I saw that bear painting and felt a spiritual connection.
Been spending a lot of time working out lately. Not to get stronger, though that is happening.

No. My goal is to get Dumber.

We are watching "The Cutting Edge" (1992, dir. Paul Michael Glaser), mostly as a bit. I've never seen it before, but @reenamccarty.bsky.social has fond memories.

I will say, the direction of this movie makes me feel like I spun around too much and took a career ending blow to the head. So...

In my defense, Raúl Esparza is reading the audiobook.
"You can't just leave because your husband decided to read Under the Dome. You'll be laughed out of divorce court."

I gotta level with the team: Thinking "transhumanism and posthumanism" are useful frameworks for modern LLMs and similar seems Not Great.
I have a good bit of knowledge on the topic from my graduate research on transhumanism & posthumanism, but a lot has changed in the last 5 or so years, both from the technological side and the impacts.

Birthday party may or may not have devolved into declaiming epics. No way to know.

There's a fox in my neighborhood. Well, there was a fox. It left. But maybe it will come back.

Pretty cool.

Sometimes Taskmaster looks a lot like a window into hell and that worries me , like, theologically.

So, @reenamccarty.bsky.social got me a little cross-stitch set for Christmas. To quote her: "It seems like the kind of fiddly, tedious bullshit you'd enjoy."

Well. I'm now being served ads for a service that provides slutty little AI furry boyfriends.

There's barking up the wrong tree, but they're in the wrong damn forest.

A gal I know once commented on another person in our orbits confidence-to-competence imbalance: "I'll bet that guy fucks like he's got a slightly bigger than average dick."

I've never heard someone put that much scorn in a sentence.
What's an insult you'll never forget?

"Chess" needs to close early because thinking about that musical is making me literally insane.

Tonight's movie is "Jingle Bell Heist" (2025, dir. Michael Fimognari). While the title makes it clear this IS a Christmas movie and it IS a Netflix direct program, I regret to inform you it is an actual, honest to god filum. They got, like, color correction and competent lighting and everything.

I feel like my Boy, JoJo Christo, had something extremely specific to say about what to do if your eye offends you or your hand leads you to sin, but sure.
These people have serious problems.

Because I can't say my favorite part of PALADIN'S FAITH by @tkingfisher.com was "everything", I'll have to say it was deeply refreshing for a crew of bandits to realize they were up against a party with class levels and just... Surrender. You don't see that enough in fiction.

"...And they, since they
"Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs."

That hasn't left me alone since I bumbled into it in 11th grade.

More videos out from the "Chess" revival and I am sad. There's so little texture and energy. Like, if you can't get ME with a stand-and-sing, technically competent rendition of "Anthem"? You are COOKED, gang.

First Saturday in December, so you know what that means! Time to watch a Christmas romance from a production company no one has ever heard of before or will hear from again until next Christmas.

The more I see of this new production of "Chess" the more convinced I am that the show is some kind of cursed amulet or monkey's paw and people need to STOP PICKING IT UP TO WISH ON
