I used a lot of silver painting on black base as the bird sports a lot of gray. He gives confident and mischievous vibes. A photo of a watercolour painting. A Rook perched on a cherry tree branch with a few leaves of orange, yellow and light green shades, as it was autumn when I took that photo I used for reference. He is up high, facing the viewer. Gives out the true king of the hill feel. I like the contrast between the black bird with silver and a bit of blue shine and colourful background.

Today's blob is a big bada boom, a gingerbread pie, bun, prostě buchta, with a grated very sweet apple instead of a portion of sugar, it still tastes very good, the recipe called for a cup of sugar, I think I ended up with just a half and for me it is sweet enough 🤤
Freshly mixed dough, poured into a rectangular baking glass bowl, placed on the very old and cracked wooden cutting board on the light gray countertop, while waiting for the gas oven to heat up. Finished product, mostly cooled now, with two squares of the cake set on a white dish with a silver fork.

here it is, my favorite bumper sticker I saw in 2025

New Year's chickadees. I am glad they survived the cannonade, I remember years of smoke in the air so thick it was unbreathable and days without bird chirps afterwards.

Doves and chickadees. But with open balcony doors and with me sitting on the carpet behind the threshold and having the basking red light on because it's frosty. They are brave birds but also very sneaky, sitting on the railing, watching me silently and bolting away swiftly when I look. #pigeonsky

Aww, in the garden I met two tiny wrens today. Every day, now that the sun was shining, I spent some time there, offering food, then going to fulfill a quest while offering food to random ravens and chickadees, leaving nuts in nearby spots. Then more birding and gardening and it's dark again.

Looking at new devices, but 'oh man' they will push the AI down your throat against your will even into your photography and when it comes to features there's this long list of all 'oh, actually' telling the truth about those magnificent numbers. Back to the analog I think and paper maps.

Between being outside, decluttering ragged garments, tending to plants, clearing out penicillin from the mealworm enclosure, cooking warm edibles I also insulated a few window cracks, as the coal mine furnaces and crematorium fumes together with burning junkyard seeped through them inside. 🫁

Ok. It's hard to let go of clothes. The worn out, with holes, caulk splashes here and there. I don't reach for them, they are bulky under arms when I need to layer more. Yet, I still have them. How can I get rid of Vader, or Mulder and Scully 🤪
Some t-shirts spread out on the chair and table I don't reach for, but don't want to get rid of. There is one with Darth Vader, with Mulder and Scully, with Alien's Nostromo name and logo.

The outdoor spood is spooding around #spider #bugsky #invertebrates 🌱 plus some other night pictures from a few days ago, before it got really frosty.
A round big specimen of a dark brown spider with a very ornate bum with maybe five pairs of dips on top, stripy legs, is out every night on the wall by the stairs to the basement since I noticed the bub months and months ago. Top view of a nighttime clover patch emerging from the dark, leaves are covered in little water droplets. Top view of a young plant. Light green round leaves on a stem are also covered in water droplets, the light comes from the side and it looks nice as it just floats in total darkness as no ground is visible. Top view of a short white dawn feather from one of the doves' underwear. This is from preening. The light comes from the right, and I try to hold this tablet steady to get some details. It is a very small feather.
