I keep coming back to the fact that we pretty easily solved poverty for around 6-12 months in 2020, and a lot of rich dudes are petrified of anything like that ever happening agin.

It's time to light the lights...

...in 2026!!! LFG! I hope it's as anarchic and strange and chaotic as it was originally! Bit new too!!!!!

🤣
For me the funniest thing about the derby result is Sydney FC scored a quarter of their season’s goals this game and still lost. #dub

One week to go!

Please share! It's a rare chance for a proper away day on a coach and the club is subsidising.

The Exit 8

What a simple, maddening, creepy, brilliant game. Spot the difference with jump scares.

Rode to work again today!

Still haven't figured out the best way across the CBD. There is basically no good contiguous bike route that goes east/west. Probably the most sensible is Latrobe-Swanston-yarra trail, but that Latrobe climb is brutal... Southbank is shared zone so slow.

Thoughts?

Good writer. Pay them for some words, or point them out to someone who can!
Amidst all these posts I'm sharing from others I should probably state too that I'm madly looking for any writing or video work that I can get in the games media space.

I think I'm pretty good at it? I've even been nominated for best games reviewer in Aus the past two years running!

The Academic Work Tracker spreadsheet is now updated with 2026 dates! If you don't already, 2026 is a great time to start treating your academic work like the wage job where you are paid to work a certain amount of hours that it actually is: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

It is time to start riding to work again. Too many years working from home... but my new job is ridable. Decent end-of-trip facilities. Should take about an hour each way, maybe a bit less if my legs come back.

Bicycles are one of the greatest inventions in history. Time to use mine more often.

Started 2026 by getting a bike out. Do not remember the last time I rode. Do not feel like looking it up...

So I rode from home to the CBD using the new sectiions of veloway, which are largely excellent and minimally compromised, other than the complete screw-up at the Footscray end...
