Had a really fun studio session last night! Got together with my nephew, his band's singer, and an old friend, showing off our stuff, putting heads together, even mic'd up my viola for the first time with an improvised multi-mic setup!

Went so well we're gonna be doing it every Tuesday now. 😤

"Progress" is a strong word.

Been stuck in a rut these past two weeks. Back to back waves of depression have had me doing little other than practicing Smash and drowning in YouTube. Both unhealthy for different reasons.

I did reconnect with some friends and start playing music again though.

Things have calmed down somewhat. Progress report.

House was reorganized. Some stuff still need to be cleaned, and the studio equipment doesn't have the cables needed to use them, but they're looking good. Had to stay away for a week due to a medical situation, but the time away did me good.

A lot of things have changed in the past few days. New progress report.

The terrible situation we were dealing with came and went. It's finally over. Now we're picking up the pieces, cleaning up the house, and outfitting a freshly opened room as a studio with equipment from my late ex-stepdad.

Do we have any collective terms for sapient mortal species in fantasy that isn't "humanoid"? Useful word irl, but feels weird having people living in a world full of many kinds of not-humans use a human-centric classifier (unless humans were the first or something).

Best one I got is "people" atm.

Two humorous social media posts about cats believing their owners can control nature, like rain and sunlight. Transcribed Text: Feline_Tales My cats have this meow that means “please come with me to fix this” after which they’ll lead me to the problem in question, usually a empty (or ‘empty’) food bowl or a closed door they want open. They look at the ‘problem’, they look back at me, clear message. What fascinates me is how this illustrates what they percieve as being in the realm of my ‘power.’ I control the food, I control the door, sure, but my cats love to sit on the balcony in the sun, and it has happened plenty of times that on a rainy day they come get me, go to the balcony and show me... the rain. “Please fix this” they say. “Please get rid of the wet” “Silly kitty,” I say, “I can’t control the rain.” I then walk into the shower and turn on the rain. purrfect_logic I hope this is a universal cat owner experience. Every single night he begs me to turn the sun back on so he can watch birds on the balcony. I tell him no, I cannot do that. But I can turn lights on and off in the house and he’s fairly certain I’m just not applying myself properly here.
