Interesting thought experiment for y'all: could a city in this country ever top NYC as the most populous? I don't mean anytime soon of course, I just mean at any point in the future. If yes, which city could do it?

It should not cost nearly a billion dollars to get the Amtrak Chicago-QC route set up. Iowa Interstate Railroad pisses me the fuck off.
In this update from the Iowa Assoc. of Railroad Passengers, there’s new details on the Chicago-Quad Cities (Moline) corridor, with its ongoing challenges spending the long-active federal funding and restoring this route to service.

Los Angeles is a city that’s been doing amazing work with transit expansion these past few years yet for some reason their politicians don’t want anybody to live near it.
Once again, LA politicians showed they aren't serious about solving the housing shortage.

In the Bay, 22 of 30 Assemblymembers voted Yes.

In SoCal, only 17 of 44 voted Yes.

Dems like LA Mayor Karen Bass fought SB 79 while young champions like Asm Sade Elhawary looked to the future.

These buildings will never not be beautiful to me. To some they probably just look like tall rectangles; and I mean, they are - but I will always love these buildings. It really does suck how we lost them and they’re simply gone to history now.

My father is a builder. It is difficult to get his attention in a magnificent space because he is lost in wonder. We were in the memphis pyramid together and I asked him what it would cost to build it today. I will never forget his answer. “We can’t, we don’t know how to do it”

The New York results will send a clear message to the Democratic party; voters want change. they want progressive leaders who will fight for them. they're tired of the establishment. either dem politicians will realize this or they will be pushed aside for politicians who will listen to them.
