Taking my mid-life crisis one day at a time.

Charlie Kirk himself thought that some gun deaths were a worthy price for the Second Amendment. His own death will fairly quickly be forgotten as Americans, as always, move on from this latest shooting. So, in a way, both right and left are getting what they want.

Watching the Twin Towers collapse on 9/11, I remember thinking, "It was mostly air." Somehow it had never occurred to me that the inside of a building — even an enormous one — was mostly air. Having the same feeling now as I watch the Constitution collapse: Turns out... it was just air.

I know this dragon is depicted as on the attack, but instead it looks surprised at unexpected brunch guests and embarrassed that it didn't set out a few extra chairs.

I brought my family to see Congress certify the vote for the 2020 presidential election.

The first thing I saw was a bunch of MAGA thugs assaulting the Capitol, one of whom was wearing a stupid buffalo hat.

So forgive me if I doubt that the guy who pardoned them is going to bring crime down.

A lot of people think the world can be made better by identifying the bad people and making them suffer in exactly the ways that we suffer. I understand that urge. It may bring some kind of catharsis. But we all need to understand that it doesn't actually *solve* anything.

I don't have the words to talk about the passing of Jill Sobule, so I will defer to Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey.

The important question isn't whether the out-party writes out articles of impeachment; it's whether the president's party supports them. The problem here is and has been the Republicans, not the Democrats.
How long, in minutes, would it have taken the GOP to introduce articles of impeachment against Clinton, Obama, or Biden if they had said they were going to ship American citizens to a prison in El Salvador?

15? Less?
Before press came in — but while live feed was running on Bukele’s feed — Trump said to him: “home-growns are next. … You’re gonna need to build about 5 more places.”

I write occasionally on Substack, and you don't have to pay to read. (SS made me put in subscriber pricing or else.)

Political elites will apologize, journalists will sanewash, social media will equivocate and billionnaires will tell you they know best. Don't believe it.

If lots of people didn't remember exactly what happened four years ago, lots of people wouldn't be working so hard to forget.

I'm trying to envision ex-president Trump working with Habitat for Humanity and my imagination just laughs at me. We *know* what ex-president Trump would do, as we saw it from 2021-2025, and it sure didn't involve building houses for free.

If this were Donald Trump instead of Greg Stillson, would Americans have cared? I wish I were sure.

Nothing says you don't look down on people like asserting you don't look down on people when you weren't even asked.
Reporter: Do you plan on bringing Nancy Mace’s transgender bill and putting it into the rules package?

Johnson: I’m not going to engage in this.
