I’m writing my first novel. I also love to read and will go mama bear for humanity when threatened. Current state of humanity: threatened.
📚💙 4.5/5🌟 Thanks to whomever mentioned this book in some comment somewhere. An important classic, a dive into ordinary, a smartly written story that’s both sad and alluring? Maybe it’s the truth. And truth is so important right now. I’m not sure how to even say why I liked it, but I did. 💙📚

🩵📚 When I set out to write my first novel, I don’t know why but I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the process as much as I have.

I know there will be frustrations. But even the learning part has been so fun!!

On the fence? Give it a go!

For reference, I’m on my second draft. :) 📚🩵

🩵📚My new way to do used bookstores so I don’t wander aimlessly and get overwhelmed by choices:

👉consult my list of authors I now keep. Any of their books available? Great. Gimme. :)

Beginning of my author list:
*Maya Angelou
*Margaret Atwood
*James Baldwin
*Ray Bradbury
*Percival Everett

5/5🌟 I started this magical (imo) read prob a couple years ago. Finished and then reread the beginning again. I just enjoy it so much. Love that we still have so much to learn about trees, but so far so fantastically good. Not sure how to not love this! 📚🩵 #booksky #nonfiction #trees #nature #review

How stinking cute is this book? The embossed cover the cute little palm-of-my-hand size, the printed bookplate. Found for a dollar at my #library bookstore. 📚🙂 ( #bookrecs via 1930 in comments, in case you need one haha)

I joined in the fun for this global #Libby #Bookclub #ya read and escaped into the mystical Misty Valley. There’s something comforting in a shared experience like that. I especially liked the used bookstore :) This is a great little gem for families. Check out Libby & Sora Reads! #booksky

Hooked from like the first word 5/5 wow! 🩵 “tender hearted” Maya tells the truth when it would have been safer to stay quiet, in this inspiring and brave book. #angelou is one of the best storytellers we’ve had, in my opinion. Loved it! #bannedbooks #iknowwhythecagedbirdsings #booksky #bookreview

#historicalfiction interesting to learn about the Japanese invasion of Singapore in WWII and its ties to Cornwall. I liked that timeline more than the present one and it was a little slow starting for me, but overall really enjoyed it 4⭐️! This is the first #novel of a trilogy. #thedistantdaughter

#Bookclub book, apparently people love or hate this one. Put me in the love category because I loved my way through all nearly 600 pages. I appreciated the writing/storytelling style and that the violent scenes were not described in detail. 5 ⭐️ #booksky #allthecolorsofthedark #chriswhitaker #fiction

huge #jamesbaldwin fan… I think I loved The Fire Next Time a little more, but this is an amazing novel that reads lyrically at times and a story that I’m very happy that I read. #gotellitonamountain. 4.5 stars. Which Baldwin to read next? #booksky #bookrecs

Wow wow! Amazing 5 stars/5 for #kindred. This was a horrifying journey that I somehow wanted to be on. Such gripping story telling talent, and will be reading more from #octaviabutler. Important, relevant, read! #booksky #historicalfiction

Time for some book reviews- I enjoyed this one, simple read, emotional- and I like emotions so there’s that. The characters were quirky & likable, a good book for exploring grief. I gave it a 4 1/2 (of 5). I like to always have a digital book to go to instead of “scrolling”, this was good for that.

The most important thing I read at 14 after being raised in a Christian house.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
