Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Collaborative for CBT & Implementation Science. Broadening access to evidence-based practices through implementation science, community partnership, and technology. I'd love to pet your dog.
"The pipeline of talent has been cut off. We can no longer train graduate students and postdocs. These are individual dreams crushed, causing collective damage that will take generations to undo."
1. For the past thirty years I've had the best job in the world.

I've had the opportunity to follow my curiosity; explore the workings of nature and society; mentor students and junior colleagues in the same process; and teach generations of students about it all.

Many Medicaid recipients do not know they receive it because Medicaid is called different things in different states. The public narrative of Medicaid focuses on a distant other, but 40% of US children and 60% of nursing home residents receive Medicaid. Just SOME of the names by state are below:

It is simply not enough for universities to say, “Our grants & research offices are looking into how research will be affected by the latest directive.”

University leaders must actively and very publicly make the case for the kind of work many of us do. The silence on this front is deafening.

Yesterday was bittersweet. We celebrated Dr MichaelA Williston (in the pink blazer) as he move to his next big adventure after 11+ years with us. As a mentor, it's wonderful to see people spread their wings and move on. As a human, it's hard to say goodbye for now to the ones we care about. 💗

Tl;dr: Shortlinks used here aren’t being tracked on altmetric - use the full url! #impsci, take note:
Scientists, academics, researchers: We’re excited to share that @altmetric.com is now tracking mentions of your research on Bluesky! 🧪
There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.

A Place of Joy.

Is anyone out there working in digital mental health and taking doctoral students for Fall 2025? I've had a few really promising junior folks with in AI / DMH reach out and ask if I'm taking Clin Psych PhD students. That's not an option, so I'd like to be able to point them in a great direction.

We're making inroads in scaling up EBP access, but we need pragmatic ways to measure fidelity to ensure it's delivered skillfully. Looking for a low tech approach? Our new paper shows that evaluating therapist CBT skills from in-session worksheets is quick and correlates with observer ratings!
