my parents used to ask their tech-savvy college students for cracked copies of Photoshop to use at home; I still have the burned, handwritten CDs with CS2, 3 and 4 for several of the OS X bigcat releases, but I don't actually know if they still work

the GBA i modded charges but won't turn on; I was very bad at soldering when I did that project so I'm willing to bet at least one wire is disconnected inside. still gotta go to work but that should be an easy fix when I get home

They keep inching towards blocking you from downloading videos too. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull that off soon. Broken record etc, back your stuff up. Also if you use a PS3 or Wii-U to play on a Tube TV, they will block that eventually too. Things are speeding up too fast man.

i keep up with a lot of anime-featured musicians, and finding out that Tombi was a one-hit-wonder for the first season of trigun stampede was disappointing, it's catchy as fuck

it's finally done. you may notice it looks exactly the same as it did before I started, but at least it sounds way better!

okay I promise I'm not being contrarian about Popular Game but I have put literally zero skill points into first-person games and I worry that, if I ever play it, the controls in Outer Wilds that are second nature to most people, will be unintuitive and frustrating to me. would my experience suffer

coworker very nearly made me break my "no politics at work" rule when casual chat about flu season somehow turned into "vaccines bad, law enforcement good," but I was in the middle of clocking out so I just turned around and left mid-conversation

family member gave me a cold for New Years, but I realized that means I can finally use a paid sick day! no other job I've ever had has offered that (iirc, starbucks required five years before accumulating paid days off, don't know what it's like these days but that probably hasn't changed)

after seeing the release schedule for 2026 and beyond, I'm probably exiting paper Magic entirely as a hobby. No point keeping my commander decks together to play with if there aren't any cards newer than 2023 in them, so there's going to be a lot of additions to my shop over the next few months.
