I think a lot of us have been conditioned by the last decade of Democratic deadlock to imagine that a Harris victory necessarily means a continuation of it into the indefinite future—every election being fought to a loss or a draw. But there's reason to doubt that.

Today is the birthday of Ub Iwerks (March 24, 1901-July 7, 1971). In addition to cocreating Mickey Mouse & Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and his other achievements in early animation, he was the initial artist on the Mickey Mouse newspaper comic strip.
