The Premier League’s failure was
not to pick the three most outrageous offences and go from there. The lesson of UEFA was City will bog you down with legal letters and procedure
We seem to have normalised the Premier League's inability to conclude the Manchester City case. The years this thing has taken is pathetic. The longer it has taken the more people have forgotten the magnitude of the alleged offences. Time passing has had a kind of watering down affect on allegations

This was write back in March when the government first tried a watered down version of the duty of candour in the so-called Hillsborough Law. We say the same thing now open.substack.com/pub/tonyevan...
Message To Starmer: The Hillsborough Law As It Stands Has No Teeth. If It Does Not Contain A Legally Enforceable Duty Of Candour, Call It Something Else. We Want No Part Of It
The Government was rushing to get the bill before Parliament before the 36th anniversary. Word around Westminster suggests it's not fit for purpose. Anger is growing among campaigners

The takeaway of a particular type of Evertonian on twitter about this piece is I’m the liar. Insane

Zahawi has joined Reform. Remember he boasted he was a member of Liverpool's 'firm' and he once got bumped by a horse? Here's a piece I wrote about it. Spoiler: he wasn't a football hooligan.

Zahawi A Liverpool Hooligan? What A Steaming Pile Of Tory Horse****
Former Chancellor of the Exchequer said he was part of a 'Firm' that went looking for trouble at matches in the 1980s. As we used to say back then: "Are you taking the piss because I'm on the dole?"

Clearly, the answer to England’s problems at cricket are a madarse week in Noosa (it was fairly quiet when I was there). Or a lottery pitch. But fair play. Good performance today

I only got Iain in The Times once. I wanted him to do a column in The Game. He made me laugh. This is more of a smirk or a snigger but a very funny writer and broadcaster. Follow him and watch his Route One show
Liverpool should only take two points for this win. If I was Arne Slot, I’d be embarrassed to pick up all three after this display. Just leave one in the bowl as a sort of tip.

Been under the weather but now fit again. Thought it worth writing about Salah as Liverpool get ready for their first game without him. He’s not the only one underperforming and you can see where he’s coming from
