According to legend, pandas were once all-white. A small girl tried to save a panda from being attacked by a leopard, the leopard killed the girl instead. Pandas came to her funeral wearing armbands of black ashes. As they wiped their eyes, and hugged each other they smudged the black ashes.

Every once in a while, Jose got to pose for a card without a major league uniform on. Sometimes it was an Ultra Pro jersey, sometimes it was no shirt at all with a pair of Levi’s. And most recently it was the coveted green A’s hall of fame jacket.
