I think I finally understand var(obv) = var(tal) + var(luck) and how to calculate the 'constant' to get r=0.5
I can do that for wOBA overall, but I can also do it for each batting component

I'd often like to see a rolling average for a team from one season to the next, or see a player's profile over multiple years/bigger sample

Seems we spent ~2 months not pressing and using subs, to lots of pressing and no more subs. Also Gusto as 10 to Enzo/Cucu as 10.

Re: Chelsea & Pellegrini offside trap, I see the high line and defenders stopping their momentum, causing them to fall behind when the attack keeps moving, but isn't the bigger issue all of those chances have unmarked attackers which allow the attack to keep moving?

I agree, yet they gave him power that he's gonna be able to wield and abuse for 4 years, and the consequences will last far beyond that
