Can you spot the storm? 🌀

Claudia lacks the distinctive swirl of previous storms, instead bringing a broader area of cloud to Portugal and Spain at present

But its slow-moving nature could still bring notable disruption to the UK tomorrow with prolonged periods of heavy rain

So, now it’s to be “Storm Claudia” eh?

I have just watched, for two uninterrupted hours, Toby Jones in “Mr Burton”. A very good actor has, in my view, just become a great actor. Straight BAFTA material. Wow. Just wow.

Not your average sky for 13 November today. Both photos taken while enjoying my customary stroll beside the River Medway. A big belt of nasty wet weather is due to arrive later, for which we have a yellow storm warning. This must be what the calm before the storm looks like!

Lots of thick scum gathering by the River Medway today.

Hooray. A position which mostly pandered to tories who could never hack it as straight up politicians, but who wanted to make their (often) unpalatable views on crime and punishment heard without come-backs. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

A huge belt of serious, heavy rain now being forecast by the Met Office, falling pretty much continuously over Wales and much of England, between midway through Thursday, until late on Sunday. I blame those complaining about droughts. Grab a look at the weather chart for your area for details. 🌂🐳☔️

Trump: "I was recently at an event and I saw that France was celebrating Victory Day, but we didn't. And I saw France was celebrating another Victory Day for World War 2. And other countries were celebrating. They were all celebrating. We're the one that won the wars."

Trump going for the BBC could make it stronger. What unites most people in the UK is being anti-Trump.

Trump is hurtling into lame duck territory.

His ratings are off a cliff. It's his second term, and the next generation of Republicans are desperately distancing themselves from him, fearing wipeout.

Nigel Farage, meanwhile, clearly hasn't noticed and thinks it's all going to be happy days ahead.

Emily Maitlis brags about her, Deb Cohen, and Hannah Barnes getting the Tavistock GIDS service shut down.

What she doesn't talk about is how Newsnight journalists manufactured outrage and concocted "scandals" based on unethical journalism - which they were called out for, but tried to hide...

I’ve just fired up the home central heating for the first time since 18 April this year. We switched it on two full weeks earlier last year. Touch wood, no problems. ☺️

Later this week, in the UK at least, a new film about the post WW2 Nuremberg trials is being released. It’s currently being heavily promoted. I’ve not seen it, but I’m guessing this guy will feature prominently in the portrayals. He’s buried in the grounds of the lovely Jevington church, in Sussex.
