Mother nature provides: the pumkin from the garden and the lines on which to cut it.

One year ago we installed solar panels, battery and a heat pump. The result: 16MWh energy consumption per year (over all including heating) before and 2MWh after. And yes it worked when we had -15°C last winter and it works with an old house (1965) and old radiators (no underfloor heating).

Just now in our Garden, what i believe is a hawk eating a dove, credits to the daughter and her steady hand (long lens, little light)

Just realized that when MAGA slops over the Atlantic to Europe it will be MEGA (Make Europe Great Again). Please let us prevent that by all (peaceful) means, the acronym is just too catchy.

To continue the cherry plum story: 5 pounds of fruit, cooked and destoned result in four glasses of delicous jam. And yes I can count, one is in the open fridge. Really delicous, tart but still sweet.

Continuing the cherry plum happy moment. They are ripe now and much too delicous for just jam (but far too many to eat in one go)

Proud to present repair project: Fender Squire 15 from the 80ties. The potentiometers were shot, after switching all six for new ones the sound is beautiful again. Repair better than rebuy.

There is no price tag for that!

Fauna in the Garden
Today nest of the leafcutter bee.
Once the bottom is cut off you know they have hatched.

Feels like an epedemic of knife attacks here in Germany. I think focusing on the knifes is the wrong approach. It is the normalization of violence that we need to address (Almosen wrote 'combat' and that is exactly were we need to start).

I'd rather have a four day weekend than a four day work week.

Just read an article about when to shower. Focused on the question when it is most useful from a microbiological standpoint. Honestly i try to shower (and get the family to do it) when the solar panels are overproducing and the controller pushes power to a grid that is saturated at that point anyway

I am not into symbolism much but the plant available water for Berlin looks like a cross to me (red means 10% and lower). Plants are dying, dead Birches everywhere you look. They are swamp creatures and the first to go.
