When I was an MP (Labour) Dicky Bird came to my constituency to open a new cricket pavilion in a pretty village. At one point, clearly disconcerted, he said to me privately ‘They’re all *** Tories here, aren’t they?’

The big turning point is not for or against ESG, but whether we try to respond individually or understand the new imperative that only collaborative action can succeed. I look forward to delivering my keynote to next week's 'amfori' European Sustainability Summit 2025. www.amfori.org/event/amfori...

Trump says so much that by the law of averages one will make sense some time. Short termism since Friedman has been the bane of business
Trump is right here ... but probably for all the wrong reasons
Breaking news: Donald Trump has called for US companies to stop reporting quarterly results, adding that a shift to publishing figures twice a year will save them cash and allow executives to focus on their businesses. on.ft.com/47K1KHk

Why does BBC report “80% of respondents to a poll on X agree with Musk” as though this figure had any scientific validity whatsoever?

Great article by Juan Flores and Mitu Galati in today’s FT: ‘Ur-ESG, Brazil and the Rothschilds’. That ESG investing was happening in 1886 (in this case to further the abolition of slavey) will be of little surprise to those who have read my book! londonpublishingpartnership.co.uk/books/the-bu...
