The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

🚨NEW: A French scientist had his laptop searched at the US border & was sent back to Europe after private messages were found criticising Trump.

He was accused of messages which “can be described as terrorism”.

This is what a slide into FASCISM looks like.

The persistence of Putin's demands for Ukraine's capitulation demonstrates that Putin is not interested in good-faith negotiations to pursue Trump's stated goal of achieving a lasting peace in Ukraine. isw.pub/UkrWar031825

There needs to be a long, deep dive into what happened here, with participation of U.S. intelligence services. Unfortunately, current U.S. foreign policy and its swing toward Russia makes me doubt that will happen.
The skipper of the Solong, the ship which rammed the Stella Immaculate a tanker carrying jet fuel for the US military causing one death and a lot of damage, has been arrested by British authorities. He is a Russian.

Two years ago today we were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for protecting The US Capitol on January 6th 2021. Almost 4 years later the efforts to downplay, whitewash and minimize what happened appear to be succeeding. I won't ever stop standing up to them.

Dear #NATO, I hope you’re seriously considering some HQ changes of command between now and January to protect member states territorial integrity and be in a position to fulfill NATO’s mission as a mutual defense alliance going forward. 1/2

I’m sort of waiting until after the holidays to get back into regular posting (it’ll be here, not there). But I wanted to wish everyone, especially other Americans, a very Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful time together with whoever is close to you now. Care about each other - we’re all we’ve got.

Trump and Scholz both called Putin.

Then Putin escalated with the largest missile attack of the entire war.

Trump's people might be floating this court-martial thing to distract everyone from his Cabinet picks. Maybe. But even as a head-fake, it's a direct attack on the norms of American civil-military relations and a reminder that Trump wants loyalty to him, not the Constitution.

In light of Trump’s pick for SecDef, posting my 2021 article on a commander’s duty to punish war crimes by subordinates.

Failure to discharge this duty—including by pardoning war criminals—can itself amount to a war crime.

Hi! Coming from Twitter/X, and this is my first Bluesky post. I’m an American living in Poland, with strong interest in international security, diplomacy, military (especially naval) affairs, diplomacy, and U.S. legal issues. I enjoy discussing and finding out about plenty of other things, too, tho.
