If new data centres add 71 TWh of energy demand, that means an increase in water demand of ~135 billion litres per year.

Adopting circular economy strategies for water management should be the enabler.

Delighted to be working with Northumbrian Water, Waterwhelm, AtkinsRéalis, SSE Thermal & others to deliver high purity water from treated final effluent using waste heat. The recovered water will be reused in industry, thereby reducing fresh water demand & demonstrating a circular economy approach.

The UK will waste 8 million chocolate eggs this Easter, which is about 10% of what is purchased over the counter.

This has a water footprint of about 38.4 billion litres, equivalent to roughly 15,360 Olympic swimming pools worth of water.
