Fun curling fact: while some stones are quarried in Wales, the vast majority of curling stones have come from the Scottish island of Ailsa Craig. The granite there has very low porosity. They weigh an average of 42 pounds and cost over $600 each.

I truly appreciate the skill, flair, and technical prowess involved in ice dancing. But I still laugh like a five-year-old at things like, "He had a little glitch coming out of his twizzle."

A little bit ago, I had just gotten on the freeway when the pickup directly in front of me lost a $500-ish BBQ grill. It crashed on the lane and I had to veer like hell to avoid it. The guy right behind me almost hit it. Tie your stuff down properly, people!

It would be nice if the Kings could actually win games in regulation more frequently. These constant OTs and shootouts are just asinine after a while.

I'm sorry to say it, but the Kings are an absolute joke this season. Why are they almost entirely incapable of winning a game in regulation, if at all?

First LA Kings Sled Hockey practice of 2026. Glad to have Angel Guzman back from Penn State, if only briefly. Unfortunately, Assistant Coach Tom is moving to San Diego so this is his last session with us. He will be greatly missed.

Our kitty Lentil has a sore spot on her shoulder, and it hasn't been healing because she scratches it constantly. So we got her a turtleneck onesie. Her expression seems to be somewhere between "Hey, this is nice and warm" and "I'll kill you in your sleep."
