My take: As a therapist, who accepts insurance to help hundreds have access to mental health care, I feel like the big corps think I'm the parasite.

Asking to increase rates for therapists feels like begging these days. Exhausting.

I'm constantly asked by some of my clients "How much is too much video games?"

As someone who dabbles in gaming himself, I typically say if gaming interferes with relationships (work or personal) then it's time to consider setting limits.

I got fired from a client this week. First time. However, it was easier than expected and I believe it was in the client's best interest.

It's ok to lose clients. Never allow a client's decision to speak to your worth or work. Let them go.

The reason I started focussing on provider burnout:

I saw too many psychiatry residents, attendings, and med students getting so frustrated with the US's current health system. Which is only worse in the outpatient mental health realm.

I'm in the age group that has men playing video games with their college friends because that's a source of rest and validation for them. I'm curious to know about how many clinicians see this play a role in clients not connecting in-person friends.
