On the principle of “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence,” this article fails to reach even a low bar. I mean the article — which I read three times — not just the headline. We can only conclude that the "extraordinary claims require... " principle is not in use for this protagonist.
Unreal. The casual reader of this @nytimes.com hed and subhed will have no inkling whatsoever that Trump's "characterization" is wildly false and that it's a bad faith *pretext.* Time to get better at conveying the fundamentally pretextual nature of these authoritarian decrees already.

The funniest thing about this tweet is that he helped elect a president who is banning wind and solar power projects when the entire AI industry is in an electricity crunch.

Incidents happen because people do things that have always worked successfully, up until the incident. Doing something that always worked in the past is completely rational!

Musk is on X complaining about the “Big Beautiful Bill” again and Trump has dismissed him as just being salty because there aren’t EV tax credits in it.

Ironic to spend $250M getting the Leopards Eating Faces Party elected only for them to eat your face.

This is not what democracy looks like. We're well on our way to "dear leader" territory.
Starting this fall, Oklahoma high school students will be expected to study so-called “discrepancies” from the 2020 presidential election — essentially conspiracy theories about a stolen election that have been thoroughly discredited by courts and President Donald Trump’s own Department of Justice.
