The Red Sox don't have a backup first baseman who is a lock to make the roster (given uncertainty for Triston Casas and Romy Gonzalez).

So Isiah Kiner-Falefa is adding the position to his repertoire, just in case.

Roman Anthony said he went as a fan to the 2023 WBC final, United States versus Japan, with its Ohtani/Trout climax.

He also said Team USA told him he’ll play left field in the tournament next month.

The Red Sox’ Patrick Sandoval faced batters today for the first time since Tommy John surgery.

He is competing for the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Regarding a potential move to the bullpen, he said he’ll “do whatever they want me to do.”
