‼️russia has hit at least 1 residential building in Dnipro tonight, continued war crimes.

It’s sickening that this has become so “normal” that it doesn’t even make headlines anymore!
Do people even understand how insane that is?

None of this should EVER be noted as “the usual”!

De #Nobelprijs #Economie ligt onder vuur. Critici stellen dat de prijs een misleidende autoriteit verleent aan een discipline die vaak ideologisch gekleurd is.

To mourn — and be told it was theatre
To speak — and be told you said too much
To be alive — and be blamed for it

Russians abducted Yuliya Koveshnikova (53) from her home in Melitopol.

The Insider: They put a bag over her head, threw her into a flooded pit - no light, no toilet, and beat her for speaking Ukrainian.

Then moved her to a basement. “I heard people tortured to death,” she said. 1/

The body of Ukrainian journalist, my former colleague Viktoria Roshchyna, has been returned to Ukraine, six months after her death. Viktoria was detained by Russia on the occupied territories of Ukraine, where she reported from. She was imprisoned in Russia, tortured and killed. She was just 27.

Ukraine did what he asked; Russia did not; and now he will blame Ukraine and cozy up to Russia. This whole peace thing is a distraction from the ongoing war that Ukraine has no choice but to fight because it is being asssulted every day.
Ukraine accepted a ceasefire, Russia did not. This is Trump’s response: “if, for some reason, one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we're just going to say, 'You're foolish, you're fools, you're horrible people' & we're going to just take a pass”
Trump says US will 'pass' on Ukraine peace talks if no progress soon
Trump's comments came hours after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that the US could abandon talks.

This morning, russia launched a massive attack on central Kherson, bombing residential areas and then targeting rescue crews with artillery. A clear tactic to kill civilians and punish those trying to save them. One dead, three injured. Sports center, supermarket, homes destroyed.

As background for why this paper is important, there is a big lit that medical professionals are bad at conditional probabilities (incl base rate neglect). This is an issue because they have to calculate them all the time for diagnosis and treatment recs.

I'm thrilled that our paper on base-rate neglect (BRN) and on-the-job experience (w/ @cfchabris.bsky.social and @michellemeyer.bsky.social) was just accepted at Management Science!

TLDR: on-the-job experience with base-rate type problems mitigates, but does not eliminate, base-rate neglect.
