I like this idea, but "transcendence" seems a bit vague. Worthwhile exercise to define one's own delights though, I imagine.

Curious phenomenon: this book I'm reading is titled a "history of clothing" and it's just.... Not that? The last 10% of the book I've gone through is all about union busting and toxic chemical use.
This isn't a history of *clothing*, it's a history of industrial textile production....
