Taking an Uber across town. So far, I've only seen one… maybe two electric vehicles total. I am definitely not in the GTA anymore. The sea of tailpipes is a stark reminder of the infrastructure gap. A long road ahead.

To my American friends, your nation's ledger is bleeding. The world is building a case, and you inherit a pariah's debt.

The image the world now has of you is that of the victims.

Stand up while you still have the chance to do so.
The Pariah State: A Letter to My American Friends
When the reckoning comes, where will you stand???

‘Right to life’ shouldn't mean trampling someone else's autonomy. If we value freedom, we can't cherry-pick which bodies get rights and which don't. Protecting life must include respecting the people who already live it. Read here.
ADAMS: The Right to Life Is Not the Right to Someone Else's Body
For years, the so-called “abortion debate” has been trapped in the same narrow frame: is a fetus a person, or not? Activists on both sides have staked everything on that single question. One camp insi...

Erin O'Toole tried, often thanklessly, to steer the Conservatives toward a more modern, tolerant, reality-based party. His 2021 platform was ahead of its time. Wishing him a happy birthday, and all the best to his family.

I'm now an uncle. My niece has entered the world, and in time she'll face its many absurdities. When that happens, I'll be there ready to bestow my undying levels of wisdom onto the next generation. A great responsibility, but one I accept without hesitation. 💛

Watched the CJPME NDP Palestine debate last night. Better than the others, but still failed where it mattered. Agreement without strategy doesn’t stop genocide. All of the candidates have proven they're ready to lead our country.

After a long hiatus from Substack, I’m back with a short reflection on Davos and why it quietly proves that Poilievre and Singh would’ve been a laughing stock on the world stage. Mark Carney commands a level of respect neither man could accomplish. 🔽

Ford says “cheap Chinese EVs” like it's an insult. Canadians call that choice under $30k, a market our own automakers abandoned. Tariffs won't save jobs; investment & innovation will. I break it down here:

Ford calls competition an invasion while protecting a monopoly Canadians can't afford.

Recently met Dominic Cardy. I find him overconfident, but I respected that we could disagree and still have a real conversation like adults. Canada needs more of that.

I'm genuinely overwhelmed. Thank you to everyone who donated to my GoFundMe! Your support means I get to bring real, fearless journalism to Calgary and ask the questions the right-wing establishment media ignores. I'm excited and ready to make you proud. Independence lives because of you. 💛

I went to a CFP event expecting a by-election strategy for University–Rosedale. Instead, it became a Dominic Cardy foreign-policy lecture with almost no ground game. By-elections are about affordability and local trust; Wednesday night didn't deliver either.
Adams: I Went to a Dominic Cardy Event. It Explained the CFP's Biggest Problem.
This was supposed to be about building an EDA… and then Dominic walked in.

Forgot to post this last night: Yves Engler and his supporters decided that “activism” meant leaving a mess outside TMU on Saturday. Whatever point they thought they were making, it mostly demonstrated a casual disregard for shared public space and the people who have to clean it up.

Jamil Jivani talks about “protecting families,” but his policies would make it harder for families to afford food, housing, and healthcare. Irony is dead.

Yves Engler walked the halls outside the NDP debate, loudly claiming he “was an NDP candidate” while pitching his so-called “internationalist platform.” Disruption, not dialogue, as attendees tried to enter the event.

Rejected NDP leadership ‘candidate’ Yves Engler, being told “no,” did what any determined inventor-type might do: he staged a protest outside the NDP debate at TMU, and even tried to crash it. When the door closes, Yves Engler always checks the windows.

1/ On Saturday, I attended the NDP leadership debate. An op-ed is coming soon with my full thoughts, but I left feeling something I didn't expect: a genuine sense of hope.

Not certainty. Not perfection. But the feeling that the door isn't closed yet.

At a recent political event, I experienced deeply inappropriate conduct from Edward Nixon, President of the Scarborough Southwest Liberal EDA, including intoxication, unwanted physical contact, and sexualized comments. Political spaces must be safe. Edward Nixon must be removed immediately. #CDNpoli

Here I am. Not to cheer, not to heckle, not to play team sports with my brain turned off. I'm here to listen, to watch closely, and to report honestly on what is said, and what isn't. Politics needs fewer fans and more witnesses.

I wish Chrystia Freeland well in what comes next. Public life is unforgiving, and she carried heavy files at difficult moments for the country. You don't have to agree with every decision to respect the work, the sacrifice, and the service. Thank you for all you've done, Chrystia 🇨🇦

I'm raising funds to attend the Conservative Party convention in Calgary, not to cheerlead, but to report. Independent journalism matters, especially when the powers that be gather behind closed doors. If you value honest coverage, consider donating or sharing!

Canada, 2029: you can vote for the Poilievre Conservatives… or a gang of cartoon polluters who at least admit they're villains and accidentally invent solar panels. Tough call.

I know who's got my vote!

Huge thank you to everyone who's donated. Because of you, I now have enough to book a two-way flight to Calgary!! I'm incredibly grateful for the support so far. You're helping independent journalism show up. 🥳 🙏

Only in Ottawa do you get to keep your MP salary, your vote, AND line up a gig advising a foreign government… then promise to quit “in the coming weeks.” Sorry, no. You were elected by Canadians. You work for Canada, or you don't. Chrystia Freeland needs to resign NOW. #CDNpoli #EUpoli
ADAMS: Chrystia Freeland's “Coming Weeks” Resignation Isn't Good Enough
