Diego Rivera was such a shit to Frida Kahlo. It makes me mad every time I think about it.

Someone asked @k8lister.bsky.social if she records the fair dues warning for every episode and it just had to have been a man because if you were to listen and pay attention, you would know each one is unique.

The victims in Tumbler Ridge are my kid’s age. They’re just babies. He’s growing so much these days, he has strong back muscles I can feel when I hug him but then he’ll sneeze and it’s still a little kitten sneeze.

All the awful news feels like it has knocked the breath out of my soul. I know but I cannot constantly engage it.

I did my physio exercises like a good patient and now my ankle hurts so much 😭😭 it’s been drilled into my head by nurse mom that you never quit physio, lest your limbs fall off or become useless, so obviously I’ll keep going

We’re discussing the wetness of the snow and it’s like how people in desert talk about dry heat.

I don’t want to discuss the clementine budget, but know that not one person in this household is in danger of developing scurvy. Everyone’s scars will remain closed!

Me: Time to get up, kiddo!

Him: No.

Me: …

I can’t explain it but the current crop of AI images look like YA Christian novels from the 90s

There is a tree on the highway near my exit that creates an optical illusion against snow of a dude on a bike and as I get closer, it becomes Bigfoot. It gets me almost every time I pass it. The first time it scared me but now I’m like ah yes, Bigfoot tree

I spent an egregious amount of money on grapes today. I only bought two apples because god forbid no one likes apples tomorrow and the bag goes bad. I don’t have profound thoughts about it.

Every time the printer works and prints out exactly what I asked, I’m shocked.

I bought a very cute pearl nose ring and I might just wait to wear it in the summer when it will look less like a zit against my pale winter face

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work ...

“Does this make sense to you?”
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work ...

"Thanks for your time"
Without naming you job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

“Are there any other possible fathers for this child?”

This week’s The Ancients is about cuneiform and it’s cool af. My favourite bit is that we measure time (60s, 60miniy s, etc) bc of how the Sumerians counted.

We are each so small and connected.

Important announcement, I met a really handsome cat named Hobo today. I don’t think until this moment to take a picture but just know he was the best, biggest boy

Sometimes St. Vincent is just too much and that’s ok, there’s always Santigold

I’m sometimes annoyed by William Dalrymple but he and Anita Anand (the other one) are currently doing a series on the 1979 Iranian revolution and the current revolution and it’s very good

I sat in the drivers seat of a car for the first time since the accident and started crying. A little more sensitive than I thought

I went to the tow yard to see my poor little car and take pictures. The answer to the the insurance agent’s question about what was damaged on the front end is, “yes”.

I actually said I wasn’t sure but there were multiple fluids leaking and the firefighters made me get out and stand clear.
