When I got diagnosed w/ ADHD as a poor, hood ass Black kid it was made painstakingly clear to me that the responsibility of my neurodivergence was MY PROBLEM.
Sleep disregulation? No. I was expected to cut energy drinks, cut screen & noise stimulants, buy black out curtains, try hot showers, etc.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

I am once again saying that we saw what wall to wall, panic coverage of a crisis looked like after the Biden debate and there’s no reason Trump isn’t getting that kind of coverage except for class solidarity.
So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

A lot of yall use neurodivergence as a personality trait
Once you understand most people around you are neurodivergent &/or disabled in some way, the idea that YOU are the ONLY person in a room who will EVER need consideration & accommodation diminishes & you stop makin an ass out of you & me.

The amount of ppl pointing out neurodivergence and using ableism angles is weird (not saying this post specifically is)
But my observation came from my own adhd.
I would be up all night overstimulated because people CONSTANTLY needed something playing or the tv turned on.

I need to play YouTube videos in the background when I am getting ready to do something because my ADD causes me to hyperfocus on individual tasks too long and I need the ambient noise to focus and also time out my actions.
A lot of people were never taught to sit with themselves. One of the weirdest culture shocks in college (IN 2011) was the amount of ppl I knew who NEEDED the TV or music on for background noise- even when reading & writing papers- because sheer silence gave them anxiety.

I cannot stress this enough: This wave of AI is not providing anything that we cannot do without. This doesn't even have the veneer of necessity that banking did. We can just let them fail. We can afford for this technology to hit setbacks and need to spend more time being evaluated. This is silly.

Reading this interesting article about a study of depression in teens. Researchers concluded many teens experience boredom as depression or anxiety. Meaning they have not been taught to sit with themselves & their thoughts & dont know how to handle lack of stimulation

Them fucking shit are completely hollow and basically glued together. You literally CANT brush their hair or play with them.
Them dollar store off brand Barbie dolls are diabolical. No kid who knows what BARBIE is & receives THAT will be showin it to anyone- hell, theyll barely play w/ it.
Itll sit as a reminder to that kid that they are less than the kids playin w/ an actual BARBIE.

People go to Dollar Tree and donate trash they wouldn't give their own kids. But it's good enough for Toys for Tots cause poor kids need to be grateful for whatever. I've seen people turn lists back in and lecture the volunteers about being "realistic" for poor kids. Just sick.
