Taking inspiration from my favourite author and introducing you all to my beloved and very grumpy knight...

Elyan Croft
A tall male knight in metallic plated armour across his shoulders and hips. Below is a thick quilted dublet and cloth trousers tucked into leather boots. His hair is a coarse medium length and tied back in a stubby ponytail. A leather belt acts as a holster for the sheath of his sword.. He stayed silent, stayed ready, listening to every change in the grass instead of the lampad’s remarks. Any other creature would have fled, would have used an ability like this to escape at the first opportunity. Yes this rouge nymph, lingered amongst the trees like he was more intrigued than afraid. “I’d expect a seasoned knight to have at least a few battle scars,” That false modesty hung in the tune of his taunts but underneath was the muffled crunch of leaves “but you’re as pristine as fresh snow.” “That’s because I have never been bested.” Conviction had a smirk edge his normally sullen lips and an entire history of victories fire through his body until it moved in under a blink. Boots clad in metal swept the creature’s legs from under itself half way through the reappearance. A shocked seethe came as the Lampad’s back hit the ground, Elyan abused the stun’s lapse to drill his heel into the chest and his sword in front of eyes forced to cross in fear of the blade. His breath held as steady as his grip, wordlessly glaring at the captured foe as he made his decision. Slaying him would be simple but he had no guarantee it would put an end to the plague, nor was he certain that extinguishing a flame would cull it entirely. What he felt assured in however, was that innocence escaped the nymph far more easily than the boot crushing its ribs. “Tell me what you know.” He ordered. “I know a gentleman would ask far more nicely.” He was all too confident for a demon on the brink of death, but Elyan took to emotions a fraction slower than he ought to act. “and that my wit is as sharp as your blade.” Smoke collapsed in on itself, dropping Elyan’s foot though what was once solid. The imbalance stumbled him back, slipping against days old rain still trapped in the moss below. His body braced through his dismay. His back hit the ground with a clattering thud and each piece of his armour rang with the pain he now felt. “I thought you’d never been bested?

I have only one knight to share but an immense amount of excitement for this project! 👀

This is Chione, the Stellarion, and a snippet from my book Illusory in which they are swayed.

The hesitation Cante was seeking was caused by his compassion mirrored in their eyes. “You may wish for my death but you've given me no reason to cheer for yours.” “I've stolen you and threatened your life, are you mad?” They asked in genuine, righteous disbelief. “No, I just believe you must be mistaken.” “I'm not. You are the missing prince.” The Stellarion didn't even need to touch Cante to completely upheave his world with a certain statement. “I’m what?”
