the other thing that really upsets me about the wholesome/violent game dichotomy is how the former is heavily associated with feminine/"LGBTQ- friendly" when i've always been very into Doom/retro FPS games and desperately want more of a framing of those that ISN'T late 90's adolescent masculinity
