I just learned my short story “The Bale,” has been accepted into the Capture This anthology from Linton Press.

I’m really happy about that. Although fictionalized, it’s based on what happened to my maternal grandmother’s family in 19003/4.

On the new greenhouse frame, I found a lovely mama jumping spider guarding her web of babies. I relocated them to an outside plant & fed the mama for a few days till she left. I'm not raising babies! Will keep a few for myself, & give away some too!

The Tale of Uncle Monday first appeared in Zora Neale Hurston's writings in the 1930's. He was a powerful worker of magic, said to be a Voudon priest - who could turn into an alligator. Nice YT video of one story! #SwampSunday #Folklore
