Jill Sobule opened for Billy Bragg in 2006. I barely remembered her name from the 90s and planned to be cynical through her 25 minute opening set. But it was so good I subsequently went to see her every time she came through town. Jill Sobule was the pleasant surprise you hope for in live music.

Deepest of gratitude to our seniors for an incredible four years and I do feel that as long as Marquette is a consistent tournament team, things are ok. But I’m unsubscribing from the “Nevada Smith Offensive Guru” train of thought. 3 months to come up with a plan B and nada. #mubb

Drove to Cleveland to see it in person. It’s a microcosm of our season since January. Here’s hoping for a revamp to the offensive approach over the next few months. Or at least someone who’s dependable from deep. #mubb

I know Solo Ball nights are gonna happen. There are probably Markus Howard opponents who can sympathize. But I also wonder if this layup or 3 exclusive offense for #mubb is a great idea when neither falls frequently enough. My kingdom for a midrange shooter.

Worriedly convincing myself with 13 minutes left that Kam picking up his 4th foul is a test #mubb needs and Butler is a fairly ideal team to have this happen against… and then 10 minutes later thinking Kam could’ve taken another 3 minutes off. Props to Stevie, Chase and the boys for holding steady.

Wasn’t the result I was hoping for (although having been in attendance for Georgetown and DePaul, it seemed like a result we were trending toward), but the kid gave the day 5 stars regardless. I swear I’m not trying to influence him. Honest. #mubb #wearemarquette

Hard to overstate how exciting it is to get an acoustic demo from Edgar Jones accompanied by a note asking if we can do anything with it. Kudos to my oldest friend Michael Lux and my beautiful wife for helping breathe a little more Chicago R’n’B flavor into proceedings.
