Corgi mom just trying to keep my tiny overlord happy. Professional horror fan, mediocre gamer, compulsive reader and board game enthusiast.

Before we continue with mass following #booksky there’s probably some things I should share about my beliefs:

🖤 Human rights are for ALL
🖤 Pronouns will be respected
🖤 ALL forms of reading are reading
🖤 ALL genres are welcome
🖤 Diversity is a strength
🖤 Championing equality
🖤 Halloween year round
I have been MIA for a minute now but recently it’s because Blue Prince has me HOOKED. Anyone else? (Spoiler free please)

The book community is wild. It’s one of the only places I’ve seen so much drama about what types of books people read or how many books they have read in a period of time. If I did the same thing in the board game community, we’d all just high five and ask when the next game night is.

Honestly, I was half-expecting another headline today about some ridiculous executive order, like ‘Trump changes President’s Day to All Hail Trump Day.’ The fact that it didn’t happen feels like a small victory.

You are either an ally to the entire queer community or you are an ally to none of us. You do not get to pick and choose which queer identities you support and which you don’t. Period.

If you remain silent in the face of injustice because it does not personally affect you, you enable oppression to grow. When the tide finally turns against you, there will be no one left to stand by your side. Justice for one is justice for all.

Fighting the good fight when you can while sprinkling in time for rest and recharge, staying up to date with the current events and still being expected to go to work feels like it should be some sort of morally/ethically illegal.

Congratulations on surviving the chaos of this week. May you take a moment to be selfish this weekend, may your drink of choice be your preferred temperature, and above all else may you find the strength to keep fighting for actual freedoms for another day 🖤

Hey don’t forget today to: drink water, eat something, protect human rights, fight fascism. Ya know, self care.

If the upcoming days feel impossible, start small:

🪥Brush your teeth.
💧Drink a glass of water.
🎶Listen to one song that brings you comfort.
📚Read one chapter of a book you’re excited about.
🖤Connect with one person you trust.

Since tomorrow may be weighing on your mind like it is mine, here’s my tiny overlord reminding you to take a moment to relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and take a few deep breathes 🖤

What a WILD start to this Sunday. First, for those of you who joined and decided to stay: HI! WELCOME! 2. I’m glad you’re here and look forward to connecting! And C. With the zombie rise of TikTok, it’s okay to question everything without spreading misinformation. Keep your options open. 🖤

I must echo for those mourning the possible loss of BookTok 💙📚, your local public library is still there and even better! Most librarians are literally trained to give you book recommendations (we call it readers' advisory and reference interview, and we even take classes on it 📚). #skybrarians

Just a reminder that physical books are a safeguard against government censorship. Try looking for them at your local thrift stores and library book sales if prices are a factor.

Getting a new social media app is a lot like starting a new relationship. There’s a lot of rigmarole: you have to get to know it, it has to get to know you. Eventually it sells your personal data to an adversarial government and faces legal sanctions as a result… tale as old as time, really

Countries that ban apps and books are not “free” countries.

Honestly, escaping into books about dragons, magic, and fantasy worlds makes way more sense than trying to understand the chaos of reality. At least in fiction, the villains make their motives clear.

Okay, it’s been long enough. Can we stop pretending that Nickleback didn’t have some absolute bangers now?
