This Xennial couldn't help herself when she saw this shirt. I made it mine fast! Sesame Street taught me so much more than just my numbers and letters and I'm grateful that generations of children have been able to learn from their work.

Sun Beau's resume was a long list of wins, 33 in 74 starts, but his try in the 1928 Kentucky Derby saw him finish up the track. The son of Sun Briar was able to end his career a record-breaker, the sport's all-time money earner, besting Gallant Fox's record in 1931.

Many thanks to Adam Spradling and TwinSpries for the chance to continue this series in 2026. I go through a variety of sources to find trivia about the 151 Kentucky Derby winners to share these stories that are singular threads within the fabric of racing history.

What racetrack do you most enjoy going to for just your basic day at the races? There are racetracks that do the big days like BC and Derby, etc. well but I'm talking about just your average weekday or Sunday at the races. What racetracks keep you coming back for more and why?

In this festive moment, I'm wishing you a season of true restoration. There is a lot to process right now, and it’s okay if your 'holiday spirit' looks more like quiet reflection than loud celebration. May we all find the strength to keep looking out for one another. Happiest of holidays! ❤️

I made these cookies + cream cheese mints for gifts this year & I have heard nothing but raves. I recommend sprinkling McCormick's candy cane finishing sugar when they come out of the oven for a wee bit of mint to go with the chocolaty goodness. Enjoy!

One of the fun things about my job as a historian, author, and freelance turf writer is combing websites trying to figure out when new racing books are released. 🙄 I missed these two titles earlier this year so I thought I might feature them on social media to make up for dropping the ball.
