Saw The Jesus Lizard live at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA. The last time I saw them in town was a little club in 1999 when Yow was really creating stress for the venue managers. The man is in his 60s and is still crowd surfing. Amazing stuff.

Saw The Jesus Lizard live at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA. The last time I saw them in town was a little club in 1999 when Yow was really creating stress for the venue managers. The man is in his 60s and is still crowd surfing. Amazing stuff.

I’ve never before been so focused on sound in an art form primarily associated with visual story telling. It’s especially brilliant in anticipating the viewer’s ghoulish desire to see atrocity, which it flags in a subtly meta ending. Smart filmmaking.
