I’ve had many people ask the last couple days if I sell my art, and where. I do sell it, I’ve been a professional artist for the last 5+ years. I sell on Etsy, and on my own Website.

The woodpecker I posted on Friday isn’t for sale as it’s for an exhibition, but there will be prints available :)

I'd like to believe that the signs being removed by the NPS are in a warehouse somewhere collecting a little dust while waiting for happier days. If you visit a National Park or Monument, take pictures. Be part of our cultural memory. sites.google.com/umn.edu/save...

My love of trilobites wavers at the thought of wading a Devonian shore. So many little legs next to mine. Wiggling legs. Would they treat me to a pedicure like Garra rufa? Thanks, I’d rather not. Add water shoes to my time travel kit. He can keep his wiggling legs to himself. #TrilobiteTuesday

My new flag to celebrate Colorado's sesquicentennial arrived! We entered the Union in 1876 and the flag would have 38 stars until S. Dakota's admission 13 years later.
The 15YO living in my basement asked, "Grandpa, why can't you have a normal flag?"
One of us is getting older. I feel sorry for him.

Welcome back to #FossilFriday

Here is quite a large solitary rugose (horn) coral belonging to the taxa Grewingkia canadensis. This specimen was collected from the Upper Ordovician Whitewater (upper cincinnatian series) Formation in Indiana.

The small dragon Rhamphorhynchus displayed at the Houston Museum of Natural Science for #FossilFriday. Not a dinosaur, but sharing the same world. A creature of teeth, wings, and rudder tail, fanciful and fantastic, but real as the stone that holds its bones.

I'd planned to do some soft-roading north of Vernal after visiting Dinosaur Nat. Mmnt. Well-marked scenic route, right car, right tires, OK driver. The folks in Utah had other plans. I hate it when they try to keep me safe from myself so they don't have to pull me out of a ditch 12 miles in.

Dinosaur National Monument in mid-January is a place of wonder and solitude. I saw more deer than visitors, more wild turkeys than Park Rangers. Such a magical place deserves crowds, but I will relish this lonely time of year.

A winter’s pilgrimage to Dinosaur National Monument. I haven’t been here for a couple of decades and it’s one of my favorite places on Earth. So much to see and do!

Posting this again because it didn’t get much traction last time, and a little extra money would really help after missing a couple of weeks of work due to an illness.

$5 for a creature sketch! I also offer $25 fully coloured creature drawings if you’d prefer something in colour.

What is the purpose of snow, I asked my son this morning. He provided the expected lame answers, to look pretty, to provide moisture.
No, I told him. The purpose of snow is to be shoveled. He seemed dubious, but between us we moved snow from driveway and sidewalks. Such bonding on a snowy day.
