Pediatrics is the lowest paid medical specialty. Our numbers are decreasing despite a constant rate of children in the US. If children are to be a priority, especially their health, something needs to change.

The insidious “obvious now” factor is that all this dialog of vaccine and Tylenol causing autism is that it’s normalizing and setting the tone of “neurodivergence is an unforgivable sin and we must not let them exist”

Interesting. Wondering how this affects peds-adjacent specialties (read #MedPeds), and what it will do for inpatient specialties (especially Heme/Onc, among the last of the subspecialties that hasn't given up their inpatient services)

Interesting... Wondering how it does in comparison to nirsevimab, the current gold standard?
Clesrovimab is a long-acting monoclonal antibody against respiratory syncytial virus fusion protein. In the CLEVER phase 3 trial involving 3614 healthy infants, clesrovimab reduced RSV disease and associated hospitalization. Full trial results: nej.md/48jpBO4

#MedPeds here! This, and make Med-Peds training equivalent to a PHM board certification!
Two solutions that would bring back #MedPeds trained #doctors as well as increase #Pediatrics workforce:
1) pay #Pediatricians exactly same as adult medicine doctors for identical work (eg pediatric vs adult hospitalists)
2) provide same respect as IM doctors (which isn’t much, but more than Peds)

In case you’re wondering, it’s barely fall & our children’s hospital is already almost always full with kids boarding in the ER.
And the pediatric workforce is stretched thin.
Our system does not have the capacity to care for the influx of vaccine preventable diseases that is coming.
