Hey there! We're your friendly nerd family living just outside New Orleans.

What started as a food and travel blog evolved into this nerdy wonderland when we couldn't stop geeking out about, well, everything. So now we write pretty much about anything.
After countless family trips (and becoming DVC members!), we've created our honest Disney World park rankings for 2025.

We're breaking down what makes each park special, what's changed, and why slowing down transformed our Disney experience.

Looking forward to our first trip to Disney since buying into DVC. We probably should have done it a decade ago, but the timing was right this year. Plus, now no excuse not to see aunt Didi and Uncle Brent.

When Kurt was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on his eyelid, he expected pain and a long road to recovery.
Instead, his MOHS surgery turned out to be a best‑case scenario: minimal pain, quick healing, and lots of gratitude.

Hey, this is Kurt, the dad in the pic.

I got a skin tag removed from my upper eyelid, and it turned out to be squamous cell cancer.

Meet with the surgeon next week. Will probably have MOHS and reconstructive surgery soon.

I skipped the emo era mainly due to finances, but I knew most of the big songs, but nothing deep.

Last night, I listened to The Black Parade in its entirety.

I have a lot going on right now I'm not ready to talk about, but this album made me weep.

What I don't get about these articles is that they assume I only argue with people online 😂
Apparently it’s weird when you don’t want to spend your whole day arguing with randoms.

Watching Skeleton Crew after Andor was a good choice. After the heaviness of rebellion, having a pure adventure story was fun and a breath of fresh air.

And reading the IMDB about his name was the chef’s kiss

Took the little one to Chuck E Cheese. Sometimes it feels like Thunderdome in there, but when the little one wants to take a picture with you with this machine it just melts you heart.

Also the sunset is quite something tonight.

Being a teacher during summer is great.

You then have to be an Uber driver for your kid because a more optimistic version of yourself thought it would be great to enroll them in all the summer camps.

And my kid barely gives me two stars and definitely doesn’t tip.

So had lunch where people were complaining about protests on L.A.

It was a Mexican restaurant.

With pictures of Frida Kahlo on the walls.

I really wish people would read.

I love these threads. I have no desire or talent to write a novel, but I love the discussion of the process. And @delilahsdawson.bsky.social does this as well as anyone, if not better.
With the recent success of Andor, I'm getting more questions than usual about how to land a job writing Star Wars books, so let's do the yearly How to Write IP thread, shall we? Firstly, IP means Intellectual Property-- that's shows, movies, plays, even books, any world owned by someone else. 1/

Becoming a parent in 2018, COVID and Hurricane Ida really made it hard to keep up with this passion project. Life just kept getting in the way.

We would do a lot of nerd stuff, watch TV, etc., but we couldn't sustain that feeling. Life just kept getting in the way.

I only remember Burning Love from the original Lilo and Stitch movie. Like, I didn't even remember Nani in the original 😳

So, I went in with fresh eyes, and I have to say it was a great family movie. It's not perfect, but led by a heat-filled performance by Sydney Agudong, it made me smile.
