Happy Halloween! 👻

What is your favorite #ttrpg system to run a horror game in?

Curse of Strahd (D&D) is a classic that has a special place in my heart, but I love a real good anxiety inducing 10 Candles session.

Even further, this is another reason to not be a doomer. We don't have to consign the world to a bad ending — good things happen regularly, especially when we put in the work as a community.

We got this. Don't give up now.
Victories like Mamdani's are a great example of why holding onto hope is so important. If people didn't have hope that something could somehow change, the effort to elect Mamdani would have failed long before to tonight's victory.

It feels good winning. Let's relish in this tonight, knowing that the work of making a just world will still be there in the morning.

Nicely done y'all.

While campaigning, Zohran Mamdani frequently noted that New York is the richest city in the richest country in the history of the world, and that its government could do more for the people who live here. Tonight, he was elected mayor.
The Mamdani Era Begins
His opponents tried to smear him for his youth, inexperience, and leftist politics. But New Yorkers didn’t want a hardened political insider to be mayor—they wanted Zohran Mamdani.

By refusing to invest your own vulnerability in your creations, cutting them off before they grow, you are shutting out connection with your audience to see what you love and value, and what the true pain of that loss is.

Real horror stories and tragedies have this vulnerability as a pre-requisite.
Indiscriminately slaughtering your characters en masse during their expository phases does not make your work “dark” or “innovative,” it makes you a bad writer who made more characters than you could handle or care about.

Never allowing your characters to have real joy isn’t deep, it’s faux edgy.

I NEED TO KNOW!!! AND HOW DOES SHE REFORM???

WHAT IN THE INOSUKE ASS DISLOCATION IS THIS
Can anyone coherently explain to me what happens to Samus Aran’s skeleton when she turns into the morph ball? Is she just tucked in a ball and the suit is making a sphere around her? Is she compressed at all or is it like, proportionally sized to her normal body?

Find your good from the day before bed.

Maybe a sweet moment with someone you care about.
Maybe a meal or an easy drive or a meme that made you smile.
Maybe witnessing others stand up for what’s right.

Find your good and name it. It’s your fuel for tomorrow.

Not sure if I like trolling MAGA more than I dislike Gavin Newsom, but an interesting strategy that more Democrats should adopt regardless
With an inescapable, smashmouth, all-caps-laden and meme-filled X account, Newsom is holding a mirror up to MAGA — and MAGA doesn’t like what it sees.
How Gavin Newsom trolled his way to the top of social media
Inside the MAGA-parodying strategy that has rocketed the California governor to algorithmic dominance — while annoying leading Republicans.

I don't know if it's just me, but seeing Mamdani 's win in NYC gives me hope for the first time in a long time. I'm deeply saddened that he is ineligible to be president.

As for Mr. Cuomo, goodbye and good riddance.

As we watch the results of the president's misguided decision to bomb #Iran, I would remind everyone that countering fascism requires a swift response, and forceful condemnation.

Whenever Republicans in #MOLEG talk about "creating a culture of life" to justify abortion bans, just remember their stance on the death penalty.

Hot take y'all, but thinking about this report makes me nervous for the #transgender community. Of course its a bunch of bullshit, but this is going to get used to support some deeply hateful things in the next few years.

If we taxed billionaires out of existence and used that money to make sure everyone has what they need, those former billionaires would still be very rich.

But they don't want to be “very rich.” They want to be “insanely, unimaginably rich." And now we can’t afford anything.
