Friday is the eighth consecutive day that Fairbanks Airport has a low temperature of -40F/C or lower. There will be several more days in the -40s, but the record long streak of 18 straight days (1965 and again in 1971) is safe. #akwx @907life.bsky.social @jenniferschell16.bsky.social

Fairbanks, AK, finishes December 2025 with a monthly temperature departure of 18.2F below normal. The average high temp was -14.5F and the average low temp was -31.1F. This makes it the 8th coldest December on record (1904-present) and the coldest since 1980. @alaskawx.bsky.social

A couple of Fairbanks area climate site daily temps this month. Note there are several days when the high temperature at the airport is lower than the low temperature at UAF West Ridge.
